Motor Oil Hellas (MOH) Refinery is located in Agioi Theodoroi, Corinth, about 70 km from the center of Athens. The Refinery with its ancillary plants and fuel distribution facilities forms the largest privately-owned industrial complex in Greece and is considered one of the most modern refineries in Europe. Currently, we are seeking to Corrosion Engineer for MOH’s Refinery in Agioi Theodoroi, Corinth.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Review, evaluate and make recommendations on implementation of the corrosion control requirements. Applying comprehensive knowledge of corrosion control engineering in completing complex assignments.
  • Determining when to use Impressed Current Cathodic Protection ICCP or Sacrificial anodes or combination of both depending on equipment and service/environment. Providing technical support on material selection, cathodic protection, surface preparation and coating.
  • Conducting failure analysis of plant equipment to enable the assessment of corrosion damage and implementation of remedial action. Use of failure analysis to investigate the effectiveness of materials and coatings and determine what measures can be taken to prevent similar failures in the future.
  • Provides technical support to Inspectors and advises their use of the Risk Based Inspection Program, RBMI. Delivers effective and efficient office management and full supervisory responsibilities for various office and technical support personnel assigned to functional areas.
  • Analyzes data to provide conclusions and recommendations through technical reports. Provides to project or manufacturing engineers formal and informal technical reports of results on testing and evaluations performed.
  • Ensures the reliability of pipelines by managing and implementing surveys especially during S/D inspection activities.
  • Support SCC failures, welding and hydrostatic pressure testing of pipes.
  •  Work with NDT inspectors to solve production problems.
  •  Reviewing of design calculations, Materials selection report, Materials Selection diagrams and corrosion Management Reports. Provides material selection expertise for designing equipment components.

 

Main Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
  • Master's degree in the subject is desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of English (C2)
  • Proficient user of MS Office tools
  • Previous refinery experience is desirable and will be considered an added advantage.
  • Combined knowledge of the subject of corrosion with chemical processes will be highly considered.
  • API: Knowledge and use of API coding standards in real working code examples and how-to documentation.
  • NACE: Knowledge and use of NACE standards to recognize and evaluate corrosion control systems.
  • ASTM: Knowledge and use of ASTM standards to evaluate the corrosion resistance of materials.  Also use ASTM standards to write procedures for project-specific testing.
