Starting with the role:

Currently, we are searching to hire an Accounts Payable Accounting Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable team and ensure timely and accurate financial processing in compliance with company policies and accounting standards

Part of this role is also to serve as the key link between the Head of Accounting and the AP Accountants, facilitating proper execution of processes as well as improvements.

During your day you will:

  • Supervise the daily operations of the Accounts Payable team, ensuring accurate invoice processing, timely payments, and compliance with internal controls.
  • Coordinate month-end closing activities related to AP, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Ensure proper reconciliation between invoices and my data entries.
  • Support the Head of Accounting in implementing accounting policies and procedures and drives continuous process improvements.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for AP-related issues, resolving discrepancies with vendors and internal departments.
  • Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to AP team members to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
  • Collaborate with Treasury and other Finance teams to ensure accurate cash flow forecasting and payment scheduling.
  • Review payments to third parties to ensure completeness and correctness.

What you need to stand out:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or economics, Finance or Business Administration. 
  • 4-5 years of experience in accounts payable and related financial functions. Preferably 2 out of which in team leader/supervisory roles.
  • Master degree in a relevant field will be considered an asset
  • Sound knowledge of retail accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounts payable processes and procedures.
  • Awareness of internal controls and audit requirements.
  • Working knowledge of SAP functionalities and processes as well respective automations.
  • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written, in Greek and English languages.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
