Starting with the role:
Currently we are searching to hire an Energy Assessment Engineer who will be responsible for evaluating wind resources, designing project layouts with software, conducting long-term analyses, and ensuring compliance with industry standards for efficient energy production.
During your day you will:
- Evaluate wind resources and designs layouts for utility-scale projects
- Builds wind models for prospective projects using computational software.
- Conduct long-term Measure Correlate Predict (MCP) analysis and assess ambient turbulence at various hub heights.
- Prepare site assessment reports and optimizes project layouts.
- Ensure site compliance with IEC standards and support evaluation of new projects.
- Collaborate on project layout optimization and performance evaluations.
- Participate in budgeted long-term energy estimates and projections.
- Provide recommendation for the optimized efficiency of a project (Wind turbine model, optimized layout).
- Provide recommendations regarding systems utilization and processes improvement.
What you need to stand out:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Physics or Mathematics
- Master’s degree in related fields will be considered an asset
- 1-3 years of experience in related field (preferably in energy assessment)
- Proficiency with wind flow modelling software such as Meteodyn/WindPro/WAsP/WindFarm
- Knowledge of PVSyst
- Knowledge of data analysis programs Windographer/WindRose
- Experience with offshore wind and PV systems
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or SAP (optional)
- Fluency in English (verbal and written)
- Proficient in all MS Office software especially Word, Excel, Power Point
- Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills
