Starting with the role:
Currently we are searching to hire a Grid Engineering Specialist who will be responsible for designing electrical grid systems, including substations, transmission lines, and distribution networks, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
During your day you will:
- Design electrical grid systems, including substations, transmission lines, and distribution networks
- Ensure compliance of grid systems and projects with industry standards, regulations, and safety codes
- Support the development of detailed electrical grid designs and specifications
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and incorporate necessary adjustments into grid designs and operations
- Provide support during CAPEX calculation of grid works and assist in technical due diligence
- Work closely with cross-functional teams across Renewables and Project Development Departments providing technical support to field engineers and technicians, and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Attend meetings with Distribution Network and Transmission System Operators (HEDNO, IPTO), supports the preparation of RFQs, and reviews supplier’s and contractor’s technical documentation
- Develop and analyze electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints using CAD software and engineering tools
What you need to stand out:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Master’s degree in a related field is considered a plus.
- At least 3 years of experience in the Renewable Energy Sector (Wind Farms or PVs)
- Experience in power systems in relation to RES
- Basic understanding of the technical components & design considerations, of electrical grid, performance and O&M practices in Substations and Grid Interconnections
- Basic understanding of grid design principles, protection schemes, and automation systems
- Excellent command of the Greek and English language (oral and written)
- Very good knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Word and Excel
