Starting with the role:
We are seeking an Industrial Applications Engineer, responsible for the availability, performance, and lifecycle management of mission-critical industrial systems across the Motor Oil Group. The role focuses on IT/OT integration, system optimization, and the implementation of mission-critical systems used in refinery, logistics, and energy business operations and enhancing operational reliability and supporting the Group’s digital transformation roadmap.

During your day you will:
- Ensure the availability, performance, and cybersecurity of industrial applications
- Coordinate corrective and preventive maintenance activities, collaborating with internal and external partners
- Monitor SLA compliance and participate in contract management for support and maintenance services
- Lead the IT/OT projects from initiation to closure
- Interpret business requirements into functional and technical specifications in collaboration with vendors and stakeholders
- Ensure project deliverables meet business objectives within agreed scope, time, and budget
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and digitalization in industrial operations such as Refineries, Truck Loading Terminals, and Jetties.
- Analyze business workflows and propose technology-driven optimization initiatives
- Contribute to the design and implementation of digital projects such as Asset Performance Management, Predictive Maintenance, and Digital Twin applications
- Design, configure, and maintain data integration between industrial systems and enterprise platforms (e.g. SAP, ESG, Asset Information systems).
- Utilize APIs, web services, and database interfaces to ensure secure and reliable data exchange
- Collaborate with Database Administrators and technical teams to ensure system interoperability, data integrity, and performance.
- Support change management processes for system enhancements, upgrades, and new rollouts
- Ensure compliance with IT governance, cybersecurity, and data integrity standards
- Collaborate with business key users and cross-functional teams to drive adoption and sustainability of new solutions
- Provide standby support for business-critical applications
What you need to stand out:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years previous experience in IT/OT or Industrial Applications environments
- Previous experience in supporting and managing industrial or automation systems, such as TAS, SCADA, MES, APM
- Working experience with Microsoft SQL Server and capable to communicate effectively with Database Administrators
- Experience with systems integration via APIs, Web Services and Industrial Protocol interfaces like OPC and Modbus
- Very Good knowledge of project management methodologies, like PMI framework, Agile principles
- Experienced with SAP or enterprise-level integration projects
- Experience in energy, refining, or heavy process industries.
- Experience in a Programming Language (C#, Python
- Familiar with industrial cybersecurity standards (ISA/IEC 62443) and ITIL service management practices
- PMP certification
- Fluent in English and Greek, both written and spoken
