Starting with the role:
We are searching to hire an Accountant for efficient, timely and accurate processing of accounting tasks to join our team.
Main responsibilities
- Record accounting transactions (i.e. revenue, expenses, fixed assets, payroll, receivables) in accordance with statutory regulations and organizational policies.
- Track Assets’ depreciation and maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring alignment with accounting standards.
- Monitor and perform day-to-day accounting tasks (i.e. accounts payables, receivables, etc.) including: 1) Processing and verification of invoices (accounts payable and accounts receivable) 2) Accounts reconciliation by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances (i.e. balance sheet and P&L accounts, including bank reconciliations etc) 3) Performing accounting entries and cost centers update.
- Prepare year-end journal entries, provisions, accruals, monthly VAT returns and VIES, monthly / quarterly tax obligations (i.e., withholding tax returns, stamp duty returns, list of agreements etc).
- Process and review aging analysis to ensure compliance to accounting standards.
- Investigate and resolve vendor/customer queries.
- Perform AP/AR master data management, month-end closing activities and prepare accounting reports.
- MyData reviews and reconciliation on a weekly basis.
- Collaborate with other internal departments to ensure data collection and support relevant business units.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or other related field.
- Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting will be considered a plus.
- Minimum 3-5 years of previous working experience in accounting or similar roles.
- Experience in SAP environment.
- Accounting or similar professional qualifications i.e. ACCA, CFA etc. will be considered as an asset.
- Proficient use of MS Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent command of the Greek and English language (oral and written).
