Starting with the role:

 

Currently, we are searching to hire a Regulatory Advisor to join our dynamic Legal Department. 

During your day you will:

 

  • Provide legal advice, guidance and support to MORE’s business units in relation to the legal/ regulatory framework and the relevant legislation (both EU and national), for the licensing, development, operation, participation on the electricity markets and energy management of RES and storage projects
  • Monitor the evolution and amendments of such legislation and contribute to the drafting of MORE’s comments and suggestions on proposed new legislation
  • Liaise with public regulatory bodies and other competent authorities, such as the Regulatory Authority for Water, Energy and Waste (RAAEY), the IPTO (ADMIE), the DSO (DEDDHE), the Greek Energy Exchange (EnEx), decentralised authorities, municipal and prefectural authorities etc.
  • Handle court cases against public and private counterparts and/ or cooperate and monitor external lawyers with respect to assigned regulatory and court cases
  • Draft and/or review contracts, agreements, corporate authorities and other legal documents
  • Contribute to legal due diligence reviews, in the context of M&A projects

What you need to stand out:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law
  • A Master’s degree in Law or in Business Administration (MBA) is required. An additional postgraduate qualification, such as an LLM or a Master’s in Energy Policy, Energy Strategy, or Law and Economics of Energy, will be considered a significant asset
    Attorney appointed in the Supreme Court
  • At least ten (10) years of relevant professional experience, with substantial exposure to legal and regulatory aspects of the energy sector. Experience working within energy regulatory bodies will be viewed as a distinct advantage
  • Expert knowledge of energy-electricity regulatory framework (Laws/Codes/Regulations, including EU legislation)
  • Familiarity with property and environmental permitting framework and planning development laws
  • Working knowledge of the operations of organized energy markets
  • Comprehensive understanding of state aid schemes and mechanisms deployed in energy-electricity markets and exchanges
  • Fluency in English (proficiency in writing, reading, speaking)
