Starting with the role:
We are currently searching for Hellenic Hydrogen to hire a Senior Electrical Project Engineer (Hydrogen & Energy Systems).
During your day you will:
A. Electrical Engineering & System Design
• Be responsible for all electrical engineering issues, providing specialized guidance and solutions throughout project development and execution.
• Evaluate system studies and electrical engineering calculations (grounding, transformer sizing, cable sizing), ensuring technical accuracy and compliance.
• Review and validate technical documentation including equipment specifications, data sheets, and layout drawings (GIS/AIS switchgear, power transformers, motors, HV/LV switchgear, cables).
B. Engineering Project Management & Design Assurance
• Contribute to project planning and design development activities, ensuring alignment of electrical engineering deliverables with project schedules and milestones.
• Track engineering inputs, deliverables, risks and technical decisions, supporting effective progress monitoring and reporting.
• Prepare structured technical reports and recommendations for the Senior Project Manager, including design reviews, scope assessments, vendor selection support and technology evaluations.
• Support commissioning planning and coordination in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
C. Vendor, Contractor & External Stakeholder Coordination
• Manage relationships with external engineering consultants, OEMs/vendors and other technical stakeholders, ensuring efficient data exchange and timely review of studies and documentation.
• Review and assess offers from electrical equipment vendors as part of large-scale energy projects, contributing to commercial and technical evaluations.
D. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Decision Support
• Work closely with technical, commercial, legal, HR and operations teams to resolve engineering challenges and achieve project milestones efficiently.
• Analyze technical and project inputs to provide recommendations on system configurations, process improvements and financial model outputs, supporting optimal capital efficiency and project design.
What you need to stand out:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Master’s in energy related fields and or Business/Economics would be considered an asset
- Around 5-8 years professional experience in electrical engineering
- Experience in engineering/PM roles for large scale energy projects
- Any relevant experience in RES would be considered an asset
- Experience in reviewing electrical engineering studies and reports
- Ability to review and assess offers from vendors of electrical equipment as part of large-scale energy projects
- Working knowledge on Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project
- Fluency in English (proficiency in writing, reading, speaking)
- Knowledge of additional languages would be considered an asset
- Strong communication skills and team spirit
