Starting with the role:

Currently we are searching to hire a Technical Support Engineer who will be the primary technical liaison for customers interconnecting their renewable energy assets to our Virtual Power Plant (VPP) platform. Provide expert technical assistance, troubleshoot connection issues, and ensure smooth integration between customer systems and our aggregator platform, enabling reliable and optimized renewable energy aggregation. This role will also support our internal operations and maintenance teams by providing technical guidance and problem-solving expertise related to VPP connectivity and system performance.

 

During your day you will:

  • Provide timely and effective technical support to customers regarding their interconnection to the VPP platform.
  • Assist customers with onboarding, configuration, and integration of their renewable energy assets (solar, wind, storage, etc.) into the RES aggregator platform.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to communication protocols, data exchange, telemetry, and control commands between customer equipment and the VPP.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, operations, IT) to escalate and resolve complex technical problems.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to the internal operations and maintenance (O&M) teams regarding VPP interconnection, communication issues, and system diagnostics.
  • Support O&M teams in analyzing system performance data, resolving operational incidents, and optimizing connectivity to ensure platform reliability.
  • Develop and maintain documentation including troubleshooting guides, FAQs, and onboarding procedures for customers and internal teams.
  • Monitor system performance and alert customers and internal teams proactively on potential issues impacting their interconnection.
  • Support training sessions and webinars to educate customers and internal teams on platform capabilities and best practices.
  • Continuously update technical knowledge related to VPP technologies, communication standards, and renewable energy systems.

What you need to stand out:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Renewable Energy, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • Master Degree in related fields will be considered an asset
  • 2 years of experience in technical support or engineering roles within the energy, utilities, or renewable energy sectors preferred
  • Experience with SCADA, energy management systems (EMS), or DERMS platforms.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and IoT architecture will be considered a plus.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices in energy systems connectivity.
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written)
  • Proficient in all MS Office software especially Word, Excel, Power Point
