Starting with the role:
Currently we are searching to hire a Buyer to be responsible for the support of the Procurement plan implementation. The role demands sourcing strategies to ensure timely, accurate and cost-efficient delivery of the required materials and/ or services for THALIS. As Buyer you will participate in the execution of all operational activities related to Procurement.
During your day you will:
- Contribute to the development of procurement plan to be approved by Management and support the development of procurement strategy
- Execute and monitor the timely and accurate execution of the procurement plan for the whole procurement cycle, while maintaining the control of procurement budget and ensuring conformity with the standards and the respective policies.
- Build rapport with existing strategic vendors and continually perform market research in local and regional markets for new vendors or subcontractors
- Identify and mitigate procurement and supply chain risks including supplier dependency, delivery delays and market volatility
- Ensure that purchasing policies and processes are followed to meet business objectives
- Be involved in contracts preparation and management and is responsible for POs issuance and orders’ monitoring
- Maintain procurement ERP updates i.e. orders, vendors, materials, goods receipt, payment terms, invoices, delivery information, etc.
- Support the development of procurement related performance and reporting tools, periodical & ad-hoc, and upon the extraction and analysis of the respective data, provide insights and recommendations to Management
- Work collaboratively with all THALIS business units to understand the business needs of the company and the business requirements of each project under implementation, as well as to negotiate and monitor contract terms with vendors/ subcontractors and assist in the evaluation of the vendors and their respective proposals
What you need to stand out:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline
- Master’s degree or additional relevant studies will be considered a plus
- At least 3 years of experience within the Procurement function, preferably within the Construction industry
- Experience in projects conducted for the Public Sector will be an asset
- Knowledge of using supply chain management software and tools, including SAP, SoftOne, Danaos etc. and experience in Procurement Platforms e.g., SAP ARIBA etc. are highly appreciated
- Excellent command of the Greek and English language (oral and written)
- Proficient use of MS Office tools
