Starting with the role:

We are currently searching to hire a Head of Accounting who will be accountable for the integrity of financial accounting, statutory reporting, tax compliance, and group consolidation activities across the organization. Part of the role will be provide leadership to the Accounting function while ensuring robust controls, regulatory compliance and continuous process improvement.

During your day you will:

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, ensuring timely completion of reconciliations, provisions, and accounting entries across all accounting areas.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of group financial reporting, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements, in compliance with IFRS and Greek GAAP requirements.
  • Oversee tax accounting and compliance activities, including tax calculations, submissions, provisions and resolution of tax-related matters.
  • Manage statutory and group reporting requirements, including consolidation activities, intercompany reconciliations and reporting to Group Finance.
  • Monitor partnerships and participations, gathering financial data in order to consolidate with the Company’s reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes, systems, controls and master data governance to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead, develop and mentor the Accounting team, fostering accountability, collaboration and professional growth.

What you need to stand out:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Economics/ Business Administration or other related discipline
  • MBA or master’s degree in Accounting or Finance would be considered a plus.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in a relevant role in a Group of Companies or consulting field
  • Knowledge on Accounting/ Audit/ IFRS and other relevant standards is required
  • Experience in SAP environment
  • Proficient use of MS Office, especially Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills both in Greek and English
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
